Services

My focus is on clear, consistent communications that give your stakeholders confidence in your organization … whether you’re looking for help with a specific project or a broader campaign, or you want to fine-tune something that isn’t working the way it should.

Annual Reports

What if your report could be an active asset in your work?

Everything seems to be due at the same time! So, despite your best intentions, your annual report turns into something you check off your long to-do list, right after filing grant applications and receiving the financials.

Maybe the report looks nice in the end — but it still gets filed away and forgotten. It never quite shows the breadth of your organization’s work. Never moves your stakeholders the way you hoped.

I design annual reports people actually read and act on, organized so readers can see at a glance what you do … and when they go deeper, fully understand how your nonprofit makes the world a better place.

Every project’s different — so first, what do you need this report to do? Convince donors to contribute? Educate legislators about your projects? Demonstrate your impact in the community?

When we work together, we’ll discuss questions like that, and I’ll do a deep dive to get to know all about your organization.

After that, I fit everything into place, making sure every detail — every aspect of the design, even down to the kind of paper your report is printed on — serves your goals and helps engage your audience.

The result? A report that is an active part of your fundraising and development all year long.

Here are ways I can help with your report:

  • Annual Report Plan. A roadmap for the design of your report.
  • Annual Report Snapshot. A short-form report with highlights of the year’s accomplishments.
  • Annual Report. A comprehensive publication sharing your organization’s story and impact.
  • Annual Report Campaign. A family of materials with the annual report as the centerpiece.

Branding & Visual Identity

Has your visual identity drifted off course?

Maybe your organization is starting from scratch. Maybe you have a logo, but no two people seem to use it the same way. Or maybe your branding used to work, but over time things changed and today your publications are all over the map.

I’ll develop a graphic identity system that helps you, your staff, and your vendors — designers and non-designers alike — create consistent communications.

My branding services include:

  • Brand Color Palette. A color system with everything you need to use your colors consistently.
  • Logo and Graphic Identity. A visual identity program, including logo design, a graphic identity guide, and stationery design.
  • Branding System. An extension of the Logo and Graphic Identity to include social assets, templates, forms, website elements, and other materials.

I’m also available to work as a partner, providing ongoing design and communications support. This is my favorite way to work: becoming a trusted part of your team and helping as your needs evolve.

Already have a visual identity system that needs some fine-tuning? A Branding Tune-Up can show you what’s working, what’s drifted, and how to get back on course.

Tune-Ups

“I need someone who can spot the issues other people overlook.”

It can be incredibly frustrating when you know something isn’t right but you’re not sure exactly what it is — or what to do about it.

That’s where I come in.

I have a knack for spotting things others miss, like unclear messaging, inconsistent visuals, and things that are confusing. The types of things that make people ignore your emails, click away from your website, or throw your brochure in the recycling bin.

And I’ll tell you what I find in an actionable report that shows what’s working and what changes could make a big difference.

My tune-ups include:

  • Website Tune-Up. A review of your website’s content, structure, user experience, and visual presentation.
  • Publication Tune-Up. A review of the messaging and design of an existing report, brochure, donor piece, or other publication.
  • Branding Tune-Up. A review of your current visual identity for opportunities to strengthen the system.
  • Communications Tune-Up. A review of your communications as a whole — both copy and design.

Not sure which is right for you?

Tell me what you’re working on, and we’ll figure out the best place to start.
